Workspace 5™ opens up an entirely new window on the world of robot simulation and off-line programming - that offers accuracy, compatibility and customizability regardless of what major manufacturers' robot you're using. Workspace 5™ can help you visualize your complex robotic processes quickly and easily before you reach the production stage. Here is just a sample of the power that Workspace 5™ can bring to your desktop, whether you use Windows 98 or NT.
Compatibility
Workspace5 has the same CAD kernel as AutoCAD allowing you to directly import SAT files. It can import CAD data from neutral CAD exchange formats such as IGES. There are also direct file translators available that will translate CAD files from other CAD packages including ProEngineer and CATIA, into SAT files. Advanced features such as healing are also used.
Customizability
Workspace5 has a customizable user interface with movable toolbars and it incorporates Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) to help define behaviors of objects that you create. This means the more you use Workspace5 the easier it will be to create complex automation. Our software gives you complete control overall aspects of your simulation through access to the source code's complete object model.
Accuracy
Workspace5 used in conjunction with robot companies RRS modules can reproduce robot motion on the screen with up to 99% accuracy. Therefore the motion planner used in the simulation will be the same as the motion planner used in the robot controller. Cycle times can be 99%accurate to actual cycle times in the field.
Off -Line Programming
Workspace5 is also an off-line programming package that you can use for most robots in your process. Native robot programs are generated through a simulation and can be edited in Workspace5 before downloading to the controller. You can also upload existing robot programs to Workspace5 and watch as the computer simulates the robot motion exactly as it is on the floor.
Automatic Path Generation
Workspace5 takes a lot of the calculating out of the hands of the user. The user enters high level data (such as CAD object of interest, application, etc.) and then Workspace5 will create the appropriate path. These path generation applications can be customized using VBA. Even the individual path points can be altered or adjusted.
Easy to Use
Workspace5 has incorporated native robot teach pendants into the simulation, which allows experienced teach pendant users to manipulate the robot on the screen as if it were on the floor. This helps ease the transition into simulation.
